1. Agreement
By accessing or using the Slotstack platform (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you are using the Service on behalf of a business (“Studio”), you represent that you have the authority to bind that business to these Terms.
“End Users” are individuals who book classes, purchase passes, or otherwise interact with a Studio through the Service.
2. The Service
Slotstack provides:
- A multi-tenant scheduling and booking platform for Studios
- Embeddable web components (widgets) that Studios place on their own websites
- Hosted booking pages at slotstack.io subpaths
- Payment processing via Stripe Connect (Slotstack is not a payment processor)
- Transactional email and SMS communications on behalf of Studios
3. Studio Accounts
Registration
Studios must provide a valid email address and create a password. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
Studio Responsibilities
- You are the data controller for your customers’ personal data. Slotstack acts as a data processor on your behalf.
- You are responsible for setting your own booking terms and conditions (configurable in Studio Settings).
- You must not use the Service for unlawful purposes or to process data in violation of applicable data protection laws.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of class schedules, pricing, and instructor information.
4. End User Terms
- Bookings are between the End User and the Studio. Slotstack facilitates the transaction but is not a party to it.
- Cancellation and refund policies are set by each Studio. Slotstack does not determine or enforce refund decisions.
- Class passes, gift cards, and subscriptions are issued by the Studio. Their terms (validity, credits, expiry) are set by the Studio.
- End Users may be required to accept Studio-specific booking terms before completing a booking.
5. Payments & Fees
Stripe Connect
Payments are processed directly by Stripe on behalf of the Studio via Stripe Connect (Standard). Studios receive payouts directly from Stripe. Slotstack does not hold or handle Studio funds.
Platform Fee
Slotstack charges a platform fee of 1.5% on each successful transaction, collected as a Stripe application fee at the time of payment. This is in addition to Stripe’s standard processing fees (see stripe.com/pricing for current rates).
Free Bookings
If a class, pass, or booking is free (zero price), no payment is processed and no platform fee applies.
6. Intellectual Property
- Slotstack retains all rights to the platform, software, and documentation.
- Studios retain all rights to their content (class descriptions, images, branding).
- Studios grant Slotstack a limited licence to display their content within the Service (widgets, hosted pages, emails).
7. Availability & Support
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform scheduled maintenance with reasonable notice. The Service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- Slotstack shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.
- Our total liability shall not exceed the fees paid by the Studio to Slotstack in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- We are not liable for disputes between Studios and End Users, including refund disputes, no-shows, or service quality.
9. Termination
- Studios may close their account at any time. Active subscriptions and pending bookings should be resolved before closure.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, are used for fraudulent purposes, or remain inactive for 12 months.
- On termination, Studio data is retained for 30 days (for recovery), then permanently deleted. Transaction records are retained for 7 years per UK tax requirements.
10. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to Studio account holders at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
